Description: This pair of vintage hand carved figurines features beautiful wood hand-carved shishi lions, commonly known as Foo Dogs, originating from China during the 1900-1940 period. The brown color and intricate details highlight the craftsmanship of an unknown maker. The figurines are in their original vintage condition, adding a touch of antiquity to any collection. These figurines are perfect for Asian antique collectors and those who appreciate the artistry of vintage figurines. These were allegedly acquired by US Missionaries while in China in 1930's. Later, they were passed to their granddaughter upon her marriage in the late 1950's. I acquired these at a living estate sale where the provenance was provided by the owner. She was a bit melancholy in sharing the story of her adoration as a child and her grandmother promising them to as soon as she gets married ❤️.
