Description: German WW1 “Iron Times” Table Medal (Token) for Donations for War Effort, 1916 issue. The medal is made in iron with black finish, measures 39.4 mm in width, weighs 15.1 g. The obverse has raised inscription IN EISERNER ZEIT (“In Iron Times”) and a nicely details bas-relief image of a kneeling lady offering her jewelry. The reverse shows inscription gold gab ich zur wehr isen nahm ih zur eh (“I Gave Gold to The Defense. I Took Iron in Honor”). The medal is in EXCELLENT condition. The black finish is nicely preserved, shows only minor wear on the raised edge and high points of the bas-relief artwork, and just a few scuffs elsewhere. There is no visible rust, pitting.
