Description: This is a German Navy "Torpedo = und Nachrichtenschule" Torpedo and Communications School Cap Tally (KM Mutzenband "Torpedo = und Nachrichtenschule"). It is full length, 45" (114 cm), the 1936 to 1945 pattern, woven, black rayon construction cap tally features machine woven, Gothic script, "Torpedo = und Nachrichtenschule," in golden yellow celleon threads. The ends of the tally are cut at a diagonal angle which would create the "swallowtail", affect when applied to the cap. It is in excellent condition and does not glow under blacklight. I purchased it in 2001 from a private collector. This tally is discussed in "Die Kriegsmarine, Uniforms & Traditions, Vol. 2" by John R. Angolia & Adolf Schlicht (1st Edition), page 27. NOTE: These are all pieces from my 30 year personal collection of WW2 Militaria that I am now liquidating. They are all authentic unless otherwise noted in the description.
