Description: Up for auction is vintage original Meridian table alarm electric clock, c. 1950. This rare clock was designed for George Nelson Associates by Arthur Umanoff (1923-1985) and manufactured by Howard Miller Clock Company, Zeeland, Michigan, USA. The clock's body is made from beautifully grained rosewood with clear thick lucite face cover and chrome plated X-shape pedestal base. The clock is 5 1/2" tall, the body is 4" in diameter, the lucite cover is 3/8" thick. The face of the clock is silver plated aluminum with 4 black hour markers, black enameled hour and minute hands, red second and alarm hands. The early golden Howard Miller label is intact. We tested the clock for couple of days and it works not only quite, but keeps perfect time as well. The alarm works fine. The electric cord and electric plug are all original with no issues. Nothing is missing.The clock has very minor wear to 60+ years old clock. Some light scuffing to the wood, lucite and chrome are present and must be accepted.
