ROOSEVELT,” AS PRESIDENT O’Connor was Roosevelt’s legal advisor and law partner. He co-founded with Roosevelt and served as president of the Georgia Warm Springs Foundation. After their efforts to combat polio became nationwide, the foundation was reconstituted into the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis (March of Dimes) in 1938. The present check was a donation directed to FDR for the foundation. PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT RECEIVES A LARGE DONATION FOR THE NATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR INFANTILE PARALYSIS TO COMBAT POLIO IN 1938 Measures 8 by 3 inches, created in New York City on January 31, 1939, contains a paid stamp and hole punch, in very fine condition with two stains near the center of the left and right borders, and nicely matted and framed to an overall size of 15 by 10 inches.
