Description: Flow Blue The Hofburg W.H. Grindley & Co Plate Dish, circa 1800s Measures (approximate): 8 3/4" dia It is in fair condition for it's age of a 100+ years. It does have crazing and discoloration on both the front and back. I do not see or feel any chips. Also, some natural flaws from it being made such as paint splatter, extra glaze, and missing glaze. This does not have a gold trim on it and doesn't look like that it ever has. Please see all photos. The story behind this plate. This, and some of the other flow blue plates, were from salesmen who sold to various corn and wheat farms. Getting a plate like this would be considered very premium for it's day. Also, no one ever received a full set of the same style blue plates. Comes from a smoke-free home. ***Please check out my other Antique, Vintage, and Flow Blue Plates.
