Description: Offering a very nice, first edition example of The Encyclopedia of British Empire Postage stamps printed in 1973. The book was written by philatelist, and expert scholar of British Empire philately, Robson Lowe. The hardcover book measures 9" x 6", with 760 pages pages, with many B&W photos, and illustrations throughout. This book covers, or touches on everything stamp related to British Empire philately. From postal rates of the early American Colonies, to countries like British Columbia, Bermuda, Br Honduras, and Br Postal Agencies in Colombia-Panama, Mexico, Nicaragua, etc. Canada is also included, along with all the provinces. There is also a section on the semi-official airs, and a brief mention of the bogus Labrador, and the Maritime & Newfoundland Airways issues(p545). The catalog values are out of date, and the values listed are in English Pounds, but the information in this book is astounding. For it's age, this book is in excellent condition. Expect very minor shelf wear, but no major issues. There will be no torn or missing pages, or writing of any kind. This is a great book for the advanced, or specialized collector. Will make a great addition to your philatelic reference library.
