He played college football at Notre Dame and was drafted by the Steelers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. With his Week 5 effort, Claypool became the first Steelers rookie in franchise history to score four touchdowns in a game, and the first Steeler since Roy Jefferson in 1968 to do so.[21] Claypool also became the only wide receiver in NFL history to accomplish this feat in the same game.
