Description: Cast Iron Planters Nuts “Mr. Peanut” Coin Bank Used This “Mr. Peanut” coin bank statue is a perfect addition to any collection of advertising memorabilia. This cast iron statue features the iconic Planters Nuts “Mr. Peanut” as a coin bank, which is perfect for storing your spare change or as a paperweight or decorative piece on your desk, counter or shelf. Coins are deposited through a slot on the backside of this piece, as shown in the photos. A screw on the backside of the coin bank, as shown in the photos, is used to hold the two pieces of the coin bank together and when the screw is removed the coin bank can be separated and you would have access to any coins collected. This piece does not have any Maker’s Mark and the origin and date of manufacture of this cast iron piece is unknown. The piece is painted a light brown as a roasted peanut shell. The hat and clothing are painted a dark brown, as shown in the photos. The top hat bears a band labelled “Mr. Peanut” and the base is labelled “Planters.” This piece measures 7½” High and is 3½” at its Widest point. The base measures 2¼” in Diameter. This piece is a perfect addition to any advertising memorabilia collection and it will surely become a conversation starter.
