Description: circa 1900 AMATEUR BASEBALL TEAM / WWI LAUNDRY / 1929 TIJUANA POSTCARD RPPC Equity This lot offers seven images from the early 1900's (and possibly earlier), three of them in the form of real photo postcards. They share the common element of the unusual surname "Equity" but we can't determine the locations, except for the Tijuana postcard. The Tijuana RPPC is the most recent, dated on the back February 27, 1929 with the names Tine and August Equity; you'll note that "Tijuana, Mexico" appears on a plaque or board in front of the curb, at the feet of the posing foursome. The picture (4-1/2" x 6-1/2") of the amateur baseball team features mostly adults, and we can see lettering on the front of some of the uniforms, like "Hoffman" and "Underwriter". Note the far right annotation with a much younger Carl August Equity in attendance again. This photo has been affixed to black paper, suggesting the previous owner cut it out of an album. Two of the smallest photos (3" x 4-5/8") date from WWI. The two soldiers at work in the tubs may be washing their clothes; the reverse states "My Uncle Austin Equity WWI." Its companion has annotation on the back stating "Our Camp. See wash on line w/ Mr. Porter and myself. From Aug." We presume Aug is short for August Equity. The photo of the car (3-1/4" x 4-1/4") states "August Carl Equity & Tine" on the reverse. The two remaining images are real photo postcards. Both of these name Bill Equity as part of the groups; the one with farm boys also identifies August Equity again.
