Description: *Please read the full description and review all photos.* For your consideration, a charming early Victorian engraved padlock bracelet, likely circa 1830s-1840s English. The bracelet is being sold in AS FOUND condition as it needs some repairs and TLC. The links are hollow, some of the rolo links are dented, and two of the rolo links have partial breaks that need repair. The bracelet has not been cleaned and the interiors of the links are a bit dirty and tarnished. The padlock shows evidence of a prior repair where the tongue inserts into the lock. The tongue inserts fully into the lock and needs a new little lever tab for easy opening and closing. The clasp does fully close but is not super secure. The safety chain is a later addition in rose gold and is kind of awkward in execution, I would consider getting it replaced with a better matching yellow gold chain. The padlock has an empty glass locket at the back with some surface scratching and engraving. The padlock is set with a garnet which has mild surface abrading. The bracelet is not hallmarked but the chain and padlock both acid tests at around 9K and the stone tests as garnet with a presidium gem tester. Estate pieces like these are rare, highly sought after, and becoming increasingly difficult to find. The rarity and condition are reflected in the price. **Signature required for delivery.** Length 7 3/8 inches but it fits more like 7 inches since the bracelet is wide. The large mariner links are 12 mm in width and the rolo links 7.5 mm. The padlock measures 18.7 x 27.2 mm. Total weight 12.9 grams.
