Presenting a stunning antique Art Nouveau WMF and Waechtersbach ceramic water jug in the highly appealing Blue Pansy pattern. This exceptional example, dating to the early 1920s, perfectly embodies all of the style and elegance of the Secessionist / Jugendstil period. This exquisite piece is beautifully decorated with a stylish pattern of blue pansies forming a decorative band surrounding the top portion of the crisp white ceramic body. A pair of simple thin dark green lines surround the lower portion, harmoniously unifying the refined design. The hinged silver-plated lid adds a true stroke of genius to the design with its weighted engineering allowing it to open and close smoothly as the jug is angled for pouring. A stylish, angular handle and beautifully formed pouring lip ensure this sophisticated piece is both aesthetically pleasing and a wonderfully functional example of Secessionist design. SIZE: This impressive piece stands approx 170mms tall measures 120mms in diameter at the base and 160mms in width measured from the tip of the pouring lip to the end of the handle. The pattern remains lovely and vibrant and the body is clean and stain free. The chrome fittings are in good condition with only exceptionally light signs of age.
