Description: This banded agate brooch is a beautiful early example of Scottish jewelry. The brooch features a polished multicolored banded agate stone than is carved with rays from the center to the outer edge. It is attached to the clasp through a center bezel with a patterned surface. It measures approximately 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches square. It has its original c clasp and steel pin. The metal clasp and setting appear to have the remnants of a yellow gold plating over an unknown metal. The lovely color and variation make this brooch the perfect addition to any vintage jewelry collection. The item is an antique and is sold as is. The item may show wear, fading, scratches, original imperfections and/or damage from normal use. In particular, the agate has a crack extending from the center bezel to the edge and some small chips to edges as shown in photos. Examine photos carefully as they are part of the description. Imperfections were factored into pricing. No returns or refunds.
