Antique Mid-1800s Primitive Toleware Tin Lock Box Documents Hand Painted

Description: For sale is a really cool mid-1800's tin document, valuables or lock box. There are hand-painted floral toleware flowers on the front, gold or gilt edges, and complementary swirling accents on the lid. Even the inside has been painted, a lovely yellow color. A ring is on the top for easy carrying, and a closure allows for a lock to be added. Measures 4.25" tall, 8" across, 4" deep. The "japanned" finish does have quite a few scratches and shows wear, but in my opinion that adds to the charm and primitive nature of the piece!
