Description: Antique French 19th century gilt bronze jardinière or table centerpiece bowl. Probably Napoleon III period but I'm not an expert and will add info offered by experienced collectors. Featuring a gorgeous hand blown cut glass insert in super condition. Encased in a sturdy gilt bronze mount, richly decorated in Empire style ornamentation with neoclassical elements. Comprising of finely detailed appliques including Grecian wreaths being attended to by winged Neoclassical style women with an angelic presence. All delicately framed by exquisite reticulated filigree borders patterned with ornamentation. The pillars are crafted to resemble quivers of arrows terminating to acorn shaped feet. In overall good antique condition with only some spotty wear, patina/discoloration to the metal commensurate with age. I have not tried to clean or polish it. Offered as found. Some minor scratches/surface marks to glass from use mainly on underside of glass bowl and a few tiny bubbles. For accuracy. Original Glass insert is generally in unusually fine condition with no chips and fairly clean. The piece measures 9 3/4" long, 3 3/4" at tallest measure by 5" across the glass bowl.
