Description: AHWAHNEE HOTEL CHINA: Two (2) cereal or soup bowls manufactured by the Sterling China Co in Wellsville, Ohio exclusively for the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park. The Pattern is terra-cotta and black on a white background, based on a California Indian basket pattern known as “Three-Legged Indian”. These measure 2 1/4" high x 5 7/8" top rim diameter. The Sterling China date code S3 stamped on the bottom indicate these cereal/soup bowls were produced during July-September 1989. This China is in like new, unused condition. No scratches, cracks, or damage. It has never been used or washed. The glaze is in like new condition. It has been in a home cabinet as art since purchased in 1991 in a smoke free, pet free home. The Ahwahnee Hotel has been using dishes with this pattern since the hotel opened in 1927. The Sterling China Co went out of business in 2004.
