Description: A very rare and unusual carved wooden effigy used in divination practice by the most enlightened senior male, and sometimes female diviner of the village. Such sculptures and the ritual practice in which they are used are both known as kafigeledjo ("he who speaks the truth"). The figures is a visual representation of a spirit and it would function as a divination device. Kafigeledjo divination is used to uncover misdeeds, false testimony, and culpability.
