Description: Here are six hard-to-find amethyst purple pattern glass tumblers in the "Inverted Strawberry" intaglio design. The unique tumblers feature an all-around, realistic intaglio strawberry plant with detailed leaves, and a flat bottom with additional intaglio. Made by Guernsey Glass (Harold Bennett) using original Cambridge Glass 2780 molds from the early 1900s, each is marked "NEAR CUT." Nearcut was a Cambridge trademark; Harold Bennett, who had worked at Cambridge, was able to acquire the mold and rights after Cambridge Glass closed in the 50s. These glasses have a light green glow under UV. They stand 3 7/8" in height and have a top diameter of 3 1/8". There are no chips or cracks. There is little wear. As with EAPG, Depression Era, and other vintage glass, there may be slight 'character' marks, bubbles, ripples and mold marks on bottoms or sides from the original mold and/or production process.
