Description: This a truly lovely pattern, a mix between the gaiety of Art Deco and the elegance of the Victorian roses. If I were other than an old guy who lives alone, I'd keep them (I inherited them from my late sister). I pooh-poohed people who used the patent date of 1916 on the back as this plate's age. They weren't necessarily wrong, though. The logo on this plate was used by Charles J. Ahrenfeldt from the time he took over his father's (Charles) business and began manufacturing porcelain in 1894 until 1930, when I suspect he retired. He died four years later. The next logo is drastically different as are all the subsequent ones. So it's somewhat safe, if not amazing, that these plates were made between 1916 and 1930. I'm selling these in pairs because, in my experience, people don't want to buy six plates at a time (though my sister evidently did!). If you do want more, I offer a discount if you buy 2 pairs and a bigger discount if you buy all three. I will also refund shipping excess for two or three pairs if it occurs. I pack very carefully which makes the packages bigger. Size and how far away you live are huge determinants of what the Post Office charges, so I make no promises, but will do my best.
