Description: Two horses by the barn. Original oil painting. 19th century oil on canvas. Hardwood frame. Approximate measurements: Image view: 18 7/8" x 23" Stretcher bars: 19 1/2" x 23 5/8" Frame: 23" x 27 3/8" Condition: the canvas was restretched - evidence from behind shows cut marks along old nail line and subsequent use of staples to reattach canvas to a pressed board. Other condition comments: varnish appears redone. Likely a professional cleaning was undertaken prior to that as colors are good. Painting has craculare, and appears stable. Thin white line above shovel may be a scratch. Please study all photos and ask questions prior to bidding. Thank you.
