For years, college students from allover the country, and sometimes teachers and professors, sought work at Yosemite National Park during the summer hiatus from school. But increasingly, city dwellers tired of urban life are coming to Yosemite Valley in central California to work. Some workers, like Postmaster Leroy "Rusty" Rust, 62, in left photo, have always lived in Yosemite. Rust left for college and the Army, but returned 40 years ago to begin working for the Postal Service in the park. In right photo, park employees Bill Miller and Kim Saunders relax. Saunders, 34, is a sometime city dropout who has worked on and off at Yosemite for eight years. Photo measures 10 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 08-22-1983.
