1971 Mini Classic Mini

Description: Selling our classic 1971 Innocenti Mini 998cc. We have loved owning it the last 4 years, going to be tough to get rid of it! It is the RARE Italian made version with many different features and different interior than a regular Mini. Lefthand drive. Here’s a little info: -1971 Mini Cooper Innocenti MK3 -998cc (engine block code: 99H503R-H6581) -Hydrolastic suspension -Single carb THE GOOD -We are the second owner - 1 family (two brothers) owned it since new and they brought it to America after owning it in Italy prior to us buying it in 2020. Runs and drives good. We believe it to be accurate to have about 14,500 original kilometers (though hard to be sure). We've put over $7,000 into it getting it in good driving condition the last couple years. Here are examples of some of the parts we have replaced the last few years (we receipts), while still trying to keep it as “original” as possible: -Yokohama 10” tires ($328) -battery ($216) -fuel pump ($345) -clutch ($1,278) -tune up ($124), -drain and flush original fuel tank ($221) -rebuilt carb ($276) -master cylinder ($115) -slave cylinder ($106) -front axle u-joints ($667) -alternator ($401) -headlight wiring ($280) -top end of the engine fully rebuilt with new hoses, gaskets, and new cylinder head ($1,508) -plus coolant flush, oil change, brake fluid flush, spark plugs, fuel sending unit, exhaust brackets, etc) THE BAD Trying to be completely honest and think of anything you may not be able to see in the pictures. There is some rust on the underside, nothing serious, mostly under the battery box. The foam in driver seat bottom will need replaced eventually and hydrolastic suspension needs refilled. When it is filled, it drives so smooth. We just haven't driven it much the last couple years and it needs filled again (we do start it and drive a mile or so every 3 weeks to keep everything nice). The shift boot is split on the bottom, though you can't see it unless you get down on the floor and doesn't affect anything. Car is nice, but far from perfect. Dash is cracked in a few spots; interior carpet appears original and rough. We scanned the paint with a paint meter over the whole car and there was only one small spot in the front passenger fender that appears a little thicker where many a bit of touchup or Bondo may have been used years ago. OTHER This is a 4-speed manual with a beautiful wood shifter. It does have speakers installed and wired in the back seat area, though there is no stereo installed. Sale includes the original spare tire, tools, jack, and reflectors. All gauges are in Italian which makes is super rare and cool. It has a very desirable roll-down windows with corner vent popouts. The condition of the interior "leather" is really nice. It features the heater option. I am not a Mini expect but will try my best to answer any questions. We literally found this in barn during COVID and got it running and have enjoyed taking to various car shows where it gets TONS OF ATTENTION. As far as we can tell it is basically all original.
