Description: Vintage 1960s **Jeppesen PJ-1 Plotter + CR-1 Computer** The Jeppesen PJ-1 Plotter is a unique and highly effective instrument for the measuring of courses, bearings, and distances on World Aeronautical Charts (WAC) and Sectional Charts. Comes with plastic rotating plotter which reminds me of a ruler (approx. 13" long) with a disc in the center. It is copyright 1965, and original paper sleeve with instructions for use on the back. You can measure true course, distance and magnetic course using this device. It has statute scales on one side and nautical scales on the other. Paper sleeve has split along some seams/edges, and does have a small amount of writing on it. The Jeppesen CR-1 Computer comes with the complete instruction manual and small rotating plastic disc device (about 4½" in diameter), and plastic sleeve which may not be original to it, but they fit. The manual is copyright 1968. The calculator side of the CR-1 consists of two slide rule scales and two sets of "window" scales. Problems are worked on the calculator side by aligning the known components of a problem on two of the scales and then reading the answer elsewhere on the same scale, or on another scale. A Fahrenheit/Centigrade conversion scale and basic navigation formulas are printed on the top disc for ready reference. The opposite side of the computer is the Wind side. Every wind problem contains six variables: wind direction, wind velocity, true course, ground speed, true heading, and true airspeed. Knowing any four of the quantities it is possible to find the other two on the CR-1 Computer.
