This car was owned by Dick Hare (this is where the name for the car originated) . In 1961 this car won it's Class at the 1961 NHRA Nationals-held at INDY-with a 13.73 E.T. at 104.65 MPH . The car was then sold to Paul Alberts and Roger Sinistri reworked the motor . In 1963 it set a National Record at 129.22 M.P.H. and won it's Class in 1964 with a 12.73 E.T.
