Description: 1937 Vintage Brown Germany Bavaria Rhineland Map & Brochure Hans Schmandt -- Artwork on the cover by German artist Hans Schmandt Hans Schmandt, also Grave-Schmandt was a German painter, graphic artist and sculptor. From 1935 to 1937, Hans Schmandt attended drawing courses given by the painter Carl Fries at the University of Giessen. From 1937 to 1939 he studied at the Städel art school in Frankfurt am Main. In 1950 he settled in Frankfurt as a freelance graphic artist and painter. From 1957 until his death in 1993 he lived in Dietzenbach. He created numerous book and advertising illustrations, for example for Deutsche Bahn, as well as murals for public buildings. In good condition. Please see detailed photos.
