Description: 1920s Antique Vintage Flapper Era Black Silk Dress Black Glass Beading AS IS. This beautiful antique piece is a wrap style dress made of black silk and black beading. There is a hook and eye closure at the dropped waist to secure the two sides together. The connection at the drop waist makes for a very deep v neck suggesting this would be worn with additional clothing underneath. The placement of the hook leaves a section the the front panel hanging in a way that suggests there was once a ribbon to tie it to the back panel for the full wrap look. It appears to have been altered at some point with some of the outer beading visible on the inside of the garment and a snap closure added to the front panel. This snap closure is missing its pair. The glass beading is done in an organic abstract design typical of this era, some of the beading has a metallic sheen to it while others are ribbed cylinders. This piece is in fair antique condition with some spots of disrepair. The silk itself is not fragile but does have a few minor holes. The beading is mostly intact, though several threads have become undone and beads are actively coming off. This piece is in delicate wearable condition but would be best displayed in a collection.
