Description: This 1915-1925 PERFECTION #520 Smokeless Oil Heater is an antique piece that comes in a freestanding installation with directional vented heat selection to go straight up or vent out. This is a rare model, unlike the #510 or the #525 or the #525-M, the Model #520 Smokeless oil heater manufactured by Perfection came with a tag or a small plaque which was an thin aluminum advertisement tag for pearl oil which says: “FOR BEST RESULTS USE PEARL OIL” This model was manufactured in between 1915 and 1925. You Do not see this advertisement tag for using Pearl Oil on any other Perfection oil heater. Only the #520 model with was originally blue porcelain enamel color with nickel trim and also including the stamped aluminum plaque advertising to use PEARL OIL for best results. DESCRIPTION OF CONDITION: Besides the flaking black paint it still looks pretty good despite its age. The feet (4) are all intact and straight. The heat proof handle is intact. The vent at the top opens and closes. The vent is a little bit lopsided but still opens and closes smoothly. The triangle shaped model # tag is MISSING, but it still has the main brand name tag. The tank appears to have no leaks. The inside of tank is a bit rusted up but there was also a small amount of oil in the tank so it’s not completely rusted up. No holes at least. The fuel tank gauge is fully functioning. The cap, the cap chain and the handle to the tank are all good. The spring tab clip (how to open up the heater) is in great shape. It opens and closes as it should and lock back shut. No looseness feeling when you pick it up. Inside the heater is rusted. Was left outside for a few years. But overall still all good and in wonderful shape. Just needs a new wick. It features a single burner and is made of porcelain and metal with an enamel finish. The heater has a BRASS 1 gallon fuel tank and burner surface, and it uses kerosene/paraffin oil. The antique heater has a 1 gallon tank that appears to be made of brass. The heater measures 15 inches in depth, 24 inches in height, and 12 inches in width. It is painted in black, and the original blue enamel is visible under the flaking black paint. This smokeless heater is a collectible item that is perfect for major appliance and bathroom fixture collectors. Weight: Total weight with the tank is 11 lbs & 10 oz.The tank alone weighs 3 pounds and 4 ouncesThe heater alone weighs 8 lbs & 6 oz. NOTE: This heater needs a new wick.
