(Monument celebrating the unification of Germany by Prussians in the 1870s following the Franco-Prussian War) The notes on the back are written in the old German handwriting that is very hard to read: "Wanderung (=hike) from Boppard to Bingen on May 4, 1911"It was purchased by a traveller who spent time hiking in southern Germany and Switzerland that year.
