Description: This 1 1/4 inch button is from the 1904 campaign of Theodore Roosevelt. It has a lightly tinted portrait of TR in the center, surrounded by a stylized gilt garland of laurel leaves, with stars and stripes on the edge. The paper back identifies the maker as the F.F. Pulver Co. of Rochester, NY, and includes a union label. Pulver was a short lived maker of celluloid novelty and advertising items. It was founded in 1902 and was sold in 1905. I found only one example of this design, and it had no back paper. There's some light wear on the gilt leaves, and some chips on the paint on the stars and stripes on the side.
