Description: I have here for sale a book entitled THE STRAND MAGAZINE An Illustrated Monthly Vol III January to June, published by George Newnes Ltd, London in 1892. This volume contains 6 Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - Blue Carbuncle; Speckled Band; The Engineer's Thumb; The Noble Bachelor; the Beryl Coronet; and the Copper Beeches. All illustrated by Sidney Paget. Also in this volume are The Lost Legion by Rudyard Kipling; and Zodomirsky's Duel by Alexandre Dumas. The book is bound in the Original mid blue hardboards with chamfered edges. Illustrated in black with scene of the Strand in London and black title lettering. Gilt and black lettering to the spine. Spine chipped and rubbed, wear to corners and a few light stains to the cloth. New blue floral endpapers. Sellotape to the frontispiece joint. Pages clean and firm. 660 pages, 24 x 17 cm.
