Description: Original circa 1890's-1910 cast iron figure of a black butting goat for a Gong Bell Toy Co. toy. This figure is from a bell ringing pull toy made by the Gong Bell Toy Company of East Hampton, Connecticut. The toy would have featured two matching goats which went back & forth as if butting heads while ringing a bell. We are offering in this listing ONE GOAT ONLY. The toy was named "The Billys Bell Ringer" in the 1902-1903 Gong Bell Catalog. This figure would have balanced on the projecting piece while suspended on a wheeled platform. The figure measures 3 1/2 inches tall by 1 3/4 inches long. The all original paint is in superb condition & shows only slight wear. The paint has a pleasing original patina from age & a lovely gloss.
