History of the United States of America , from the Early Discoveries and Explorations, up to the year 1881. The Chronological Table begins at 400 B.C. with "American continent known to the Ancients " and " The Mysterious Races ", and ends in 1881 with the Inauguration of President James Garfield. Illustrated with 150 Engravings Many of the illustrations are full-page. Numerous full-page illustrations with American Indians , scenes in the American Colonies , etc., etc. -------- Condition. Some edge-wear to the binding, with loss at the spine head and tail. ( see the photos ) The inner hinges have been carefully strengthened with a little Bookbinder's Glue, and are secure. Slightly shaken, but firm. Old inscription on the front endpaper (in pencil). No other writing. No markings. The pages are foxed throughout the book; light to moderate foxing, and heavier on some pages. The pages are otherwise n good condition. ------- The Contents includes: I.
