Description: An affordable Mint State example of this scarcer issue, one of only 5,750 pieces coined during the height of the Civil war. A late impression from the dies, as evidenced by the nearly invisible vertical die striations as often seen on this date. Soft sunny-golden luster shimmers throughout with only minor abrasions typical for the grade. The eye appeal is nice for the issue but we do note some microscopic residue in the upper wreath and within the letter "D."
