Description: ANTIQUE ALFRED MEAKIN PITCHER & BOWL WITH MATCHING SOAP DISH. This wash stand set is in beautiful condition. There is one very small chip on the outside edge of the bowl as shown in the pictures. There isfamily provenance in a letter accompanying this set explaining the time it appeared in the family, 1870's. It belonged to a well known indigenous midwife, Caroline Bowen (nee Fidler) and her husband, in the southeast Manitoba Canada area. Caroline was the daughter of the very well known Peter Fidler-The Surveyor, who helped traverse this great land and is in many history books.
