Description: An attractive early 17th century vellum document measuring 13 inches by 6 inches. Dated 1 May 1612. Pendant wax seal in good condition. People named in the agreement are: • Robert Gardener of Much Maplestead in the County of Essex, Husbandman and Margaret his wife, daughter and heir of Henry Tebald late of the same town, Husbandman deceased. • Francis Tyndall of Pynner (Pinner) in the County of Middlesex, Esquire. Relates to the bargain and sale of three Crofts or Closes lying in Much Maplestead called Felrupps and Four Journey Croft containing 13 acres - late the land of Henry Tebald. CONDITION. Contents complete. Several tiny holes to an original fold line (little more than pin holes). Otherwise no damage. The pin holes to the left and right margins are where the vellum was stretched during production. Good clean condition for a document of this age. Ink clear and free of fading.
